Compass Card has a New Grocery Store Partner

The Compass Card is your transit pass for bus, TROLLEY, COASTER, and SPRINTER trips – simply Tap & Ride! Monthly, 30-Day, and 14-Day passes are available on Compass Cards. You are now able to buy or reload your Compass Card at Albertsons stores throughout San Diego County. See a map of Albertsons locations.

The Compass Card is reusable and reloadable. It simplifies taking transit by creating an easy, universal way to pay for passes and fares. You can register your card so that if it is ever lost, stolen, or damaged, your card will be replaced and your pass balance restored. You can even automate your monthly pass payments with your credit or debit card so your pass does not expire.

There is a $2 fee for new Compass Cards. The fee will be added to the cost of your transit pass. Your reusable Compass Card should last. Just keep it. Reload it.

Easy to Reload your Compass Card

• Use a Ticket Vending Machine at any TROLLEY, COASTER, or SPRINTER station
• Go to the MTS Transit Store, NCTD Transit Centers, or select locations
• Reload on this site (scroll down to see available pass types). Please allow three business days for your new pass to be activated.
• Call 511 and say "Compass" to speak to a customer service center representative to buy, reload, or automate your monthly pass payments with a credit or debit card.
• Visit any San Diego County Albertsons store
• Reload by mail using the Pass By Mail order form

Initial purchase of discount passes on Compass Card (Senior, Disabled, Medicare, and Youth) must be made in person with a valid I.D. Once you have purchased your Compass Card, it can be reloaded online.

When you first purchase your Compass Card online, it can be loaded with a calendar monthly pass or 30-Day pass. From then on, you can reload your card as either a calendar monthly pass or a 30-Day pass.

• Calendar monthly passes are valid from the first to the last day of the month.
• 30-Day passes can be reloaded on any day of the month to receive 30 consecutive days of riding. Note: the 30-Day pass is activated when we process your online order and the pass is loaded to the Compass Card.
